Job is sounding more like his friends, just taking the opposite position from the same point of view. His friends are convinced that Job has sinned and deserves his punishment. Job contends that he has been righteous and does not deserve his punishment. Both sides seem to say that our actions determine what we deserve to receive.

Grace! It is all about grace!! I cannot bear what I deserve. God, please lead me to Your cross. It is only in the hope purchased for me by Jesus that my sin is covered and I find abundant life.
